Department of Training and Movement Sciences (DTMS)
Welcome to the website of the Department of Training and Movement Sciences (DTMS). As the chair of the department I invite you to get an overview of our aims, scopes and activities.
In both teaching and research, the DTMS deals with the interaction of the central and peripheral nervous systems, how these systems develop over the lifespan and adapt to changing environmental demands. The multidisciplinary perspective of the department is reflected in the expertise of its members, ranging from sport science over engineering to mathematics and physics, as well as in the equipment and methods used in our labs, which are situated in the very centre of Berlin.
With the Berlin School of Movement Science (BSMS), the DTMS is involved in a structured interdisciplinary educational program based on scientific exchange and interaction, supporting PhD students to become highly skilled scientists in the fields of motor control and movement science.
In addition, the BSMS hosts an annual international Autumn School on Movement Science to promote scientific exchange with prestigious experts.
