We received the news of Prof. Paavo Komi's passing on the first day of our Autumn School 2018. Pioneer in Sport Science and strenuous supporter of the multidisciplinary blending of Physiology, Motor Control and Biomechanics, Paavo has been one of the greatest icons for many generations of students and researchers. At the BSMS, we remember him in the role of invaluable advisor and enthusiast scientist and academic.
