Sport Clubs and Federations
In addition to public institutions and commercial enterprises, non-profit organizations (such as associations and clubs) are a further important form of organization in modern society. For a long time, however, they were underrated as "hybrid" organisations in a state of transition.
It was not until recently that they started being rediscovered as a guarantee for democracy and welfare in civil society and as an important institution of civic self-organization.
It is against this backdrop that the Department of Sport Sociology carries out research and provides advice on the basic principles, transformations, challenges and perspectives of sport associations and federations.
